This is the stuffMar 21, 2007
By T. Cox Trombotine is great. Not only does it work at least as well as any other slide cream, but if you buy one tube, it will last years--chances are you'll lose it before you use it all up. I've had the same tube since 2004. Enjoy.

Best grease, last long, non-expensiveDec 06, 2011
By Gene I bought it for my son as his private teacher recommended. The grease is easy to apply, absolutely necessary to play trombone.

My go-to lube.Oct 14, 2011
By Steve I've used this stuff on my trombone for my ten years as a trombonist (trough out middle school, high school, and now college) and never had issue with it. I've experimented with slide-o-mix and the Yamaha oil, but I find this works longer and has a 'creamier' action that I prefer. I usually lube up once a month or so, and it works fine for me (I play daily), and the only thing you have to do is spray it a few times with water every once and a while. Great product, and the king of slide lubes.

I used this both in high school and am using it in college. It works really well and keeps my slide going. It did a good job with a dent in my slide, but during that time I was having to reapply frequently.

Works but with limited efficiency.Sep 16, 2011
By Flatjwl I found Trombotine slide cream to be less effective than other products I have used. It is very difficult to avoid applying an excessively thick layer of the cream when working with a professional level instrument such as the King 2B. This results in a very sluggish slide response. Trombotine might be best suited for well worn slides or slides with less precision than a professional level instrument. The viscosity seems "thicker" than slide creams which perform better.
