I personally really like this Cecilio 2Series TromboneJun 17, 2010
By Julio Luis Hidalgo
I ordered this Cecilio 2Series Nickel Plated Bb Trombone with high expectations and to be honest I wasn't disappointed. I needed a good sounding intermediate trombone and that's exactly what I got with the Cecilio. Perfect for improvising to Salsa and Jazz music.
The slide is very responsive and smooth. The sound to this particular trombone is clear and can gives you good range as well. I really like it. I can really swing with this instrument easily with no extra effort on my part. I was a bass trombone player in High School so I like going to the low registers of the horn and this Cecilio trombone does it for me with the low notes. The case is more like a "Gig" bag if you ask me, which is alright because it's nice and lightweight and that's what I needed anyway. It also has pockets for storage and straps to hang around your shoulder when traveling. The case is pretty good.
I highly recommend this trombone to any intermediate and professional trombone player just because it's a really good quality instrument and let's not also forget the actual color on this horn, Nickel plated! Which is NOT very easy to find with such a low price and good sounding horn, believe me I've looked. This is my opinion and I give it 5 stars.

Excellent for the price!Feb 09, 2010

For the price ($200), I am quite happy with this trombone. This is the first trombone I have bought since the student trombone that my parents gave me in 5th grade. As a college student, I was looking for an instrument that is a step up from a "beginner trombone", but that was within my price range. After weeks of searching, I am convinced that Cecilio instruments were the only ones that fit my criteria! When I received the instrument, it was just what I expected: an excellent blend of quality and economy. The nickel plating makes it look great, and it really does shine like in the picture. The slide needed some oil (sorry, but I like Al Cass much better than the thick Cecilio lubricant), but is otherwise good. The limiting factor in the sound quality is definitely my lips, which are almost two years out of shape - the instrument itself sounds great (as far as I can tell). The bore size of 0.500 is in-between the standard student size and the standard intermediate size, without the high price of intermediate trombones. Overall, I am quite pleased with my purchase.
Also, the case that comes with it is interesting - I've never seen anything like it. It is incredibly light-weight, yet surprisingly firm. The outer material is a thick cloth, like what backpacks are made out of. It has two handles and an optional strap, which I find quite convenient. It seems pretty durable, and it protects the instrument well.

Poor Product Quality, Bad Customer Service From CecilioJul 04, 2011
By R. Ransi
After couple of months of light use, the metallic coating on the main slide started chipping off. This caused a screeching sound while playing the trombone. Product was within warranty so I contacted the manufacturer (Cecilio) as advised by amazon. Cecilio representative told me that they only deal with their authorized dealers and not with individuals. Kudos to amazon for taking the product back and offering free one day shipping on the replacement product.

Terrible TromboneJul 17, 2011
By Jianzhong Zhu
So i bought this trombone a few monthes ago, my son needed one for practice for band, when we bought it the slide was very hard to move, we kept lubricating it but it would not get any better, we decided it was a defect but did not bother the playing to much. Soon after about a month and a half ago, my son started Trombone lessons, we realized that the hard to move, then bought the water trombone oil, and it worked perfectly, a week or so ago we saw that the trombone slide was rusting and making a very loud sound while playing, we are trying to return it right now, terrible product!
